Animal Crossing New Leaf Amiibo Qr Code Hannibal Lecter

Nov 13, 2020 - “animal crossing gijinka #4: here's marshal, the resident smug of moontide! I imagine he's got a good heart, but likes to stir up trouble when things get too quiet 😏 #acgijinka”.

A few weeks ago, Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: New Leaf would get a major update this Fall. It will add compatibility with Animal Crossing amiibo (figures and cards), but also new content. During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, in September, Nintendo announced that it would be released in November.

There will be an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct in early november, where Nintendo will further detail the update. But the good news is: we won’t have to wait until that presentation to learn more about it! On Wednesday, Nintendo revealed a brand new feature called amiibo Camera.

It’s actually pretty straightforward: you use one of the Animal Crossing amiibo in order to “summon” them in the real world, and then you take pictures. The official website confirms that both Animal Crossing amiibo figures and Animal Crossing amiibo cards can be used, though obviously, it’s much more convenient to carry the cards around.

Here’s some pictures for the amiibo Camera feature:

The amiibo Camera feature is one of the features that will be added to Animal Crossing: New Leaf via the Software update slated for next month. It will be available from the get-go in Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, which is simply a pre-patched retail copy of the game.

Here’s the boxarts of that edition (Europe and Japan):

The update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be released in November worldwide.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo (3DS) comes out on November 23rd in Japan, November 25th in Europe, and December 2nd in North America.

Players with Animal Crossing: New Leaf (digital or retail version) can apply a free game update to turn their game into Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo is also for sale on its own digitally through Nintendo eShop or in retail stores beginning 12/2/16.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo has the following additional features. Other than this, the games are exactly the same.

  • amiibo Compatibility: all existing Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards are compatible with Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo.
    • Scan Animal Crossing amiibo figures to invite them to the Campground area in the game. (With their own stylish RV!) These characters offer players special in-game items that provide access to the new Desert Island Escape and Animal Crossing Puzzle League mini-games.
    • Tap an Animal Crossing amiibo card to invite the pictured character to come to your town. Characters in the Welcome amiibo card series can appear in the new Campground.
    • Scan select non-Animal Crossing amiibo figures to access new furniture items unique to those characters.
  • MEOW Coupons: Complete daily or weekly town initiatives to earn Mutual Exchange of Wealth (MEOW) Coupons, which can be exchanged for unique in-game items at the Campground.
